Find & Replace

The Find/Replace window enables you to quickly search for and optionally replace text in the document.
Note: You cannot find or replace text within a Text Frame.
Using the Find Text window
| 1 | Choose File > Workspace > Documents |
| 2 | Open the document you want to work with. |
| 3 | Choose Actions > Find Text |

| 4 | The following fields are available: |
| • | Find What - The text to locate |
| • | Match Case - Select this option to require an exact match of the text. i.e., "This" is not the same as "this" |
| • | Direction - Select the direction the search should proceed from the current cursor location. |
| 5 | Click "Find Next." The first occurrence of the text will be highlighted. |
| 6 | When you are finished, click Cancel. |
Using the Replace Text window
| 1 | Choose File > Workspace > Documents |
| 2 | Open the document you want to work with. |
| 3 | Choose Actions > Replace Text |

| 4 | The following fields are available: |
| • | Find What - The text to locate |
| • | Replace With - The new text to use |
| • | Match Case - Select this option to require an exact match of the text. i.e., "This" is not the same as "this" |
| 5 | Choose the appropriate button: |
| • | Find Next - Highlights the first occurrence of the text but does not replace it. |
| • | Replace - Replaces the found text and highlights the next occurrence |
| • | Replace All - Replaces all occurrences throughout the document automatically |
| 6 | When you are finished, click Cancel. |
