The Login window enables you to connect to the database and begin using the system.

Note: If you are running any sort of firewall or antivirus software on your computer, read this.

There are several different situations that can affect the way you log in:

Normal Login - If you're an existing user and are just restarting the program normally, read the topic called Normal Login. This should always be the case after the first login.
New Users - If you're a new user and have just finished installing the software, read the topic called New User Login
New Install, Need to Restore a Backup - If you've installed the software and have a backup file (usually called something like "bkup_date_DatabaseName.sql"), read the topic called New Install - Restoring a Backup to learn how to get the database restored and active again.
New Install, Existing (Current) Database - If you've installed the software but have an existing MemberTies database as a set of "myd", "myi", and "frm" files (i.e., a "copy" of what used to be an active database), read the topic called New Install - Existing (Current) Database to learn how to put the database on your computer.
New Install, Existing (Old) Database - If you've installed the software but have an existing MemberTies database as a large ".db" file that you want to use, read the topic called New Install - Existing (Old) Database to learn how to convert the database to the new format.
Upgrade/Reinstall - If you're an existing user, and you just installed a new upgrade, or just reinstalled the software for some reason (maybe you're recovering from a crashed computer), read the topic called New Upgrade or Reinstall.
