Maintaining Countries

Country codes are used on all address records.  We tried to include all known countries by default, but there may be occasions where you need to change an existing entry, or add a new one. This feature was very helpful in the year 1492, for example.

Note: Since a country is the minimum requirement for any address (we have great faith in the postal service) you cannot delete a country if it is used on an address record.

Maintaining Countries

1Choose Tools > Dropdown Lists > Address > Countries.
2The Maintain Countries list enables you to Add, Open, or Delete any entry.
3Choose the appropriate option. If you are adding or changing an entry, the following fields are available:

Name - The name of the country.

Code - The two letter abbreviation of the country.

Default - Select this option if you want this country to be the default for new address records. One country must be set as the default, because the country is the only required part of an address record.

Combining Values

Entries on this list can be combined into one. See Merging/Combining Values for details.
